On Tuesday evening Stoke City crashed out of the EFL Trophy competition after being summarily beaten by Port Vale.
Heading to Vale Park for the game, our Under 23 side fell to a 4-0 defeat as the hosts hit three times in the opening 45 minutes to take control of the game but with our youngsters again facing more seasoned seniors, we did have the greater possession and a good number of chances ourselves, however they were more clinical and had a bit more nous – as you’d expect given the difference in experience.
Whilst most fans were happy to take the learning curve for the young lads, others were less forgiving as apparently youngsters learning their way in the game means you can only accept absolute perfection from them.
Unlucky lads massive experience for all of you playing in a game with that atmosphere , done us all proud and all got bright futures ????⚪️

With Police making eleven arrests on the night and being left to condemn the ‘despicable behaviour by a large number of fans’ it wasn’t a good night all around and plenty should be hanging their heads in shame from both clubs.
