Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam is a man who splits the fanbase for a variety of reasons, and there’s certainly a core at the club who would not be sorry to see the 32-year-old move on in the January window and as ever, there are constant links with former club Rangers – especially in light of the teammate nature with Steven Gerrard from their time at Liverpool.

Having featured only six times for manager Gary Rowett in the season of 2018/19, but not since the end of October, the Scottish Sun carried an interview with him, where he insisted that he would be happy to consider a return to Scotland in order to secure himself greater game time in the more immediate future.

“A loan is something I would look at. I want to play and hopefully Scotland is an option.”

For these Rangers fans, it shouldn’t be an ‘option’.

He is previously on record as saying he’d welcome a return to Rangers anyway if the opportunity arose, but given most fans it seems want a permanent option sorted, some will think he’s hedging his bets namechecking a loan deal.
