Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam is a man who splits the fanbase for a variety of reasons, and there’s certainly a core at the club who would not be sorry to see the 32-year-old move on in the January window and as ever, there are constant links with former club Rangers – especially in light of the teammate nature with Steven Gerrard from their time at Liverpool.
Having featured only six times for manager Gary Rowett in the season of 2018/19, but not since the end of October, the Scottish Sun carried an interview with him, where he insisted that he would be happy to consider a return to Scotland in order to secure himself greater game time in the more immediate future.
“A loan is something I would look at. I want to play and hopefully Scotland is an option.”
For these Rangers fans, it shouldn’t be an ‘option’.
Charlie Adam wasnt good enough the first time round, if he cant get a game for a shockingly bad Stoke side, then he should be nowhere near us. Its a NO from me.

That’s right Charlie bring your youth and vast pace and agility too. It’s 2018 not 1998 I’m afraid your ships sailed and wee jimmy doesn’t need an apprentice kit man. #Rangersfc

Did Gerrard not supposedly despair when Liverpool signed him? That was in his prime too. Charlie’s been touting a move to Rangers for the past year but he’s past it.

He is previously on record as saying he’d welcome a return to Rangers anyway if the opportunity arose, but given most fans it seems want a permanent option sorted, some will think he’s hedging his bets namechecking a loan deal.
