Stoke City had to battle from two goals down in the weekend’s trip to the New York Stadium to face Rotherham United.
Goals from Tom Ince and Bojan in the second half of the game saved more blushes for manager Gary Rowett as despite being highly tipped for an instant return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, we are still awaiting our third win of the Championship season despite being ten games into 2018/19.
Everton centre-half Ashley Williams saw his own Championship campaign come to an end following the red card for two bookable offences in the defeat to Wigan Athletic and although he took in two EFL Cup ties, on a league front we haven’t seen him for a month.
Returning to the starting lineup last weekend, it’s fair to say Stoke fans were less than impressed with his efforts as they weren’t shy about stating their views on social media following the game.
Stability is very important….I would only change one player….Ashley Williams!! Who the hell decided he would be a good buy?? SCFC need to start winning….soon!! Tony

In total agreement with you. And, unbelievably, he appears to be worse than fifty stone Kev.

There was hope when he signed that he might get himself back on track a bit and maybe push the others, 1st appearance looked promising, not so much the rest… We can dream of defenders that want/ like to defend but will have to hope to 1 day outscore the opposition…

Bin Ashley Williams.

Sounds like Shawcross is the lesser of two evils in terms of players who are a shadow of their former selves at the moment. Send Williams back to Everton. Back the skipper #scfc

Having been at fault in the game it’s no surprise to see him picked out, but having played in only four of our league matches the leaky defence isn’t solely on his shoulders.
