Stoke City took a much-needed victory over Bristol City on Saturday to keep us within touching distance of the Championship Play-Off spots.

A solitary goal from midfielder Darren Fletcher just after the half-hour mark in the game was enough to ensure all three points from the day and it lifted us into 13th place in the table, five points off Derby County in sixth position.

The hosts certainly had the better of the game, dominating chances on and off target but instead of the leaking defence we’ve seen for much of the season, it was an admirable rearguard action to ensure the points, so it’s probably no surprise to see our backline take four of the top five positions on the day when it comes to WhoScored’s ratings from the game.

Jack Butland took their Star Man rating by some margin, with Bruno Martins Indi taking second place with 7.56. Following narrowly behind was Ashley Williams (7.50), Erik Pieters (7.44) and goalscorer Fletcher (7.40).

Butland’s making quite a habit of this.
