With Stoke City having already made a couple of signings so far this summer as new manager Gary Rowett starts reshaping the squad for our Championship battle ahead in 2018/19, it certainly feels like he’s far from finished in the market.
I know we keep getting linked with different strikers, but Dwight Gayle is our number 1 target. pic.twitter.com/QVsJk329N7

One man’s name, however, does keep coming to the fore.
Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle.
With 29 goals for Newcastle United in 71 appearances, but only six of those goals coming last season in 37 games as they returned to the Premier League, social media speculation is high about his availability this summer as the 27-year-old is certainly potent at Championship level.
It is only speculation though and there seems little of substance in it – other than the fact it won’t go away.
It’s definitely got fans excited though as him teamed with Benik Afobe at the top of the pitch can only heighten our potential chances of a return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
Silly season or not, nowt wrong with dreaming.

I would think so.

Some pointed out that the timing probably wasn’t right with the World Cup now on, so even if there is something in this nobody should expect it to cap our week off.
No, nor me. If it happens at all though, I’ll be pretty happy with that.

Prefer Crouch to Berahino.

Would certainly be a frontline with goals in them, then Peter Crouch as an alternative backup could leave us very well placed indeed.
