Reports say that Stoke City are one of the clubs looking to tempt Aston Villa with a bid for James Chester.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the Potters would be able to find another ten million for the defender who didn’t miss a game in Villa colours last season.
It has been widely reported that the Villains are looking to raise funds due to the financial fair play rules so obviously Stoke are in the frame as they are splashing a bit of cash so that Gary Rowett can build a team that he hopes could get promotion back to the top flight next term.
Rowett could be planning to line up the highly rated 29-year-old with defensive stalwart Ryan Shawcross.
That would be quite a pairing to have in a back line.
However, other clubs linked with a move for the former Birmingham City man including Brighton and Hove Albion.
