Stoke City and assistant manager, Jan de Koning have issued a joint statement stating that they have reached an agreement to terminate his contract.

Stoke City statement
?The club regrets that this course of action was necessary due to the ongoing affect of a managerial dispute involving Johan Boskamp and Jan De Koning.
?Throughout Jan’s time at the club he carried out his work diligently and conscientiously for the good of the football club. His departure is not a reflection on the quality of his work but only on the breakdown of his relationship with the football manager.
?The club wishes him well in his future career ‘

Jan De Koning’s Statement
?I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Stoke City, and particularly enjoyed working with the players and my contact with the club’s fantastic supporters. Clearly, however, things did not work out for me with Johan Boskamp. In my opinion I should not have been blamed by anyone for the events which took place at Coventry City last November. I do believe that this incident has unnecessarily been blown out of all proportion by Johan Boskamp. I wish the club the very best for the future?

No news yet about Director of Football, John Rudge who is also suspended. It is assumed that a similar statement will follow as and when the club reach a settlement.
