It has been reported today that Scottish Premiership side Celtic have lodged a firm enquiry for Stoke City’s Moritz Bauer.
The 26-year-old made the move to Stoke City for an officially undisclosed fee as he joined from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan in the January 2018 transfer window. At the time he signed a four and a half year deal, but despite our relegation from the top flight, he enamoured himself more with the fans by signing a new five-year deal this summer as he committed his future to us.
The Austrian international has now been linked with a move north of the border by the Daily Mail.
They suggest that Brendan Rodgers is looking to add a fullback to his ranks before the transfer window closes this week and he’s at least on his shortlist as they have made an enquiry as to his potential availability and I guess the price.
He’s made four appearances so far in 2018/19 for us and featured in the midweek EFL Cup second round victory over Huddersfield Town, so unless we’re talking a crazy fee here, this one should be an absolute non-starter.
