Stoke City have completed the loan signing of Wigan and Australian midfielder Josip Skoko. He will stay with the Potters until the end of the season.

Boskamp had tried to lure the experienced midfielder during the January transfer window, but he had resisted Johan’s advances.

The Bos is understandably delighted with the news. He told the official website: ‘I think the fans shall like him and now I want to see him play’. Adding that ‘he can play in the midfield or the wing. He’s been unlucky at Wigan, but now he can get some game time with us’.

He is expected to be put straight into the squad to face Cardiff on Saturday.

Skoko, 30, has been capped 40 times for Australia and will be playing in the World Cup in the summer.
