Stoke City manager Gary Rowett continues his search for a first win in the Championship in 2018/19 following our Premier League relegation last season as we took a point from the Brentford clash earlier today.

Having opened the scoring through Benik Afobe just shy of the 30-minute mark in the first half, Brentford did hit back in the second half of the match to secure a point through Ollie Watkins, and although it was an entertaining game, Stoke fans will undoubtedly want to see far more from the side in the future as the visitors to the Bet365 Stadium more than edged the game overall.

Quoted by the BBC immediately following the full time whistle, Rowett again called on the team to ‘wake up’ and ‘stop feeling sorry’ for themselves which was pretty much his message after the defeat to Leeds United in our season opener, so there’s plenty of work to be done and that should send its own message to the players.

It’s still early in the season though and some fans will have their own positives, and negatives, so it’ll be interesting to see how the poll below goes as there wasn’t an awful lot in my mind to separate the players in terms of a rating.
