Stoke have decided against offering a new contract to Senegalese midfielder Amdy Faye and have released him. The 33 year-old joined two years ago from Charlton for an undisclosed fee and played a major role in keeping the Potters up last season.

Meanwhile, Salif Diao who is also out of contract has been offered a new deal. The club has offered him a dual deal which will see Salif become a coach, scout and player if he accepts. Pulis is thought to want to exploit Diao`s excellent knowledge of Africa with the possibility of bringing a couple of young prospects

Also offered a new deal is Young Goalkeeper Danzelle St. Louis-Hamilton but academy graduate Nathanial Wedderburn has been released.

None of these decisions are much of a surprise after Faye`s continued injury problems and the lack of opportunities for young Wedderburn. We will now have to wait and see whether or not Diao will stay on and although he is the most frustrating player at the club, if he can deliver some good young talent from African then it will be well worth our time in keeping him.
