Will Beattie leave Stoke?

Will James Beattie will be forced to leave in the January transfer window after his fallout with Tony Pulis?

Whilst Pulis is said to have apologised to the whole team for his behaviour in the row over the team’s Christmas party arrangements on Saturday night, Beattie doesn’t seem to have done so, despite earlier reports to the contrary. He didn’t train with the team yesterday but was expected to return today.

According to the former Stoke player, Dave Brammer, dressing room spats are fairly regular occurrences in any club but rarely get reported, but with the Potters’ Premier League status these can easily find themselves into the media.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: ‘With Stoke being in the Premier League, it’s more high profile. You’ll get four or five of these bust-ups during the course of a season.’

The big question is where does that leave Beatt’s relationship with his boss? It’s always going to be the manager that has the final word and the next month will tell us whether the player’s future is still at the Brit or elsewhere. The first test will be to see if James makes it onto the pitch for Saturday’s televised match against Wigan.

But now is not the time for yet another fall-out between management and players after something similar seems to have happened with Dave Kitson which seems likely to turn his loan spell with Middlesbrough into something more permanent in January.
