Once again I was up at stupid o’clock (5:30 to be precise), and apparently I was exercising my vocal cords during the night… through snoring. Which could have explained the seriously dry throat I had when I woke up. Its fine now, but at first I wondered whether I had buggered my voice-box before I even get to the coach park at the Brit!  So I jumped out of bed, had a couple of cuppers to wet the whistle, threw my clothes on and headed off to pick up Grandad.

We got to the coach park and once again, the sea of red and white surrounded the coaches, followed closely by the ever curious media. And naturally, I approach some random camera man and ask if he’s doing interveiws, to which he said yes. So that was ESPN done. Next thing I know I’m standing next to a BBC Radio Stoke van, commenting on me confusing excited shaking with the bitter cold at The Britannia Stadium. Of course, I mentioned Vital Stoke.

I’m on the bus now and the passion is certainly evident. Heading towards the M6 on the A500 and have passed an elderly man in full Stoke kit ringing a big bell in the lay-by to every coach that comes past! That’s something for him to tell the Grandchildren. Not only that but we’ve spotted the Port Vale mascot on a bridge waving to us all! Fancy them turning up hey?

I’ll will try and continue with these throughout this historical day, but if I go quiet, assume the worst; battery power failure.
