After a great start to predictions in the first work the Vital Stoke team had an indifferent week in Stoke’s televised Sunday afternoon match against Arsenal, with only two of the team predicting the result right.

Here is the league as it stands after the Week 2:

1. Tom Barker Prediction (1-1; 1pt) 4 points
1. Mark Lawrenson Prediction (1-1; 1pt) 4 points
3. Lloyd Reddin Prediction (2-0; 0pt) 3 points
3. Ryan Kalisz Prediction (1-0; 0pt) 3 points
3. Tom McKeon Prediction (2-1; 0pt) 3 points
6. Niall Cope Prediction (2-2; 1pt) 2 points

The Vital Stoke team will go head-to-head with BBC`s Mark Lawrenson in predicting Stoke`s result against Wigan Athletic.

Points will be given for any member of the team that gets the score correct (3points) or the result correct (Win, Lose or draw (1 point), and all points will be calculated throughout the season.

The team`s predictions are as followed:

Editor Lloyd Reddin- Wigan 1-1 Stoke

‘We have a poor record against Wigan but normally manage to grab a draw at the DW, so I’m going go for the norm. 1-1 draw with new signing Charlie Adam being involved.’

Co-Editor Ryan Kalisz- Wigan 1-0 Stoke

‘Wigan are on that brilliant spell again just like last year, so I reckon a 0-1 loss for Stoke. But don’t worry, when Wigan balls it up mid-season we’ll get them back’

Co-Editor Niall Cope- Wigan 0-1 Stoke

‘Tuesday’s defeat will have hurt the players and manager so they will be more than up for their visit to the DW Stadium.

‘Wigan have been a bogey side for Stoke in recent years and a 4-1 win in midweek at Nottingham Forest will have boosted morale.
A tight game that is won by a set piece in the favour of The Potters.’

Co-Editor Tom Barker- Wigan 0 – 2 Stoke

‘A gutsy performance, yet a very strong one as a side brimming with confidence with their new signings take on a Wigan side who haven’t done especially much. Watch out for Adam, I feel he will run this game.’

Co-Editor Tom McKeon- Wigan 1-1- Stoke

‘The game all depends on how Stoke approach it, if we approach it like usually do, we will lose. Wigan are a good side who will attack us from the off, and I think it’s vital Charlie Adam is given his debut. I can’t see Stoke winning but stranger things have happened and hopefully we will see a positive and encouraging performance for the season ahead.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson– Wigan 1-2 Stoke

‘Wigan are the hardest team to predict in the Premiership because after defeats they suddenly come up with performances.

‘I thought they gave Southampton a lesson last week in the art of finishing. They are more ruthless now.

‘A draw at a newly promoted team and against Arsenal represents a good start for Stoke, even though it is only two points. You know what you get with the Potters – they are difficult to beat and hard to play against.

‘You can see what Tony Pulis is trying to do – get better passing from midfield, get it in good areas out wide and then into the box for the likes of Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters.

‘As the seasons go by, Pulis is getting better players in positions. They are evolving slowly.

‘Stoke don’t win many away from home but I think this might be one of them.’
