Tony Pulis has told forgotten striker Tuncay that he still has a massive part to play this season. The Turk was expected to go to Blackburn on deadline day as Eidur Gudjohnsen joined Stoke but Pulis still believes that Tuncay has more to offer.

“We`re delighted that Tunny didn`t go anywhere in the transfer window, absolutely delighted because he has an important part to play here”.

“He`s needed a year to settle in, but I believe we will now see the best of him because he certainly has it in his locker to step up another gear”.

This should come as welcomed news to Potters fans as we still wait to see the best of him. A partnership with Kenwyne Jones is a mouth watering prospect but the likes of Gudjohnsen, Ric Fuller and, once he is fit, Mama Sidibe will all be chomping at the bit to get in the team.

Despite Pulis`s promising words it is unlikely that the 28 year-old will be in the starting 11 to play Aston Villa on Monday night. Jones and probably Ric Fuller will get the nod but if Pulis feels he is ready then Icelandic Gudjohnsen may make his debut. Tuncay will most likely have to settle for the bench again.
