Stoke are interested in signing Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, according to the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old has been in and out of the North London side for a long time and has been subject of a £9 million bid from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, but the Potters are hoping first team football in the Premiership will sway his decision.

The Denmark International is apparently on £52k a week, so he would have to take a substantial pay cut to join Stoke; and let`s not forget this, he probably thinks he is good enough to play for Barcelona.

Young, talented, and certainly not short of confidence, there`s no doubt he`d be a big coup after spending many years under Wenger`s guidance, but I think he`ll believe a bigger move is possible.

Would Nicklas Bendtner take a pay cut to join Stoke City? That is the question.

According to Skysports.com, the Potters are also enquiring about Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton who is now available on a free transfer.

Arsenal,Spurs and Manchester United have all been credited with interest, with his agent stating top clubs from all around Europe are scrambling for his signature. Certainly worth enquiring about, but will he rebuff their advances in favour of a move to Stoke?
