Stoke have rejected Marseille`s advances to sign Peter Odemwingie on-loan until the end of the season.

The French Ligue One side looked to bring the Nigerian forward to the Stade Velodrome on transfer deadline day, but Mark Hughes has rejected their advances.

The veteran forward is out of contract in the summer and has struggled for first team opportunities following the arrival of Xherdan Shaqiri and Joselu in the summer, and is unlikely to have his contract extended, which makes the rejection of Marseille manager Michel baffling.
