Stoke City will be looking forward to their first friendly of the pre-season with tonight’s short trip to non-league neighbours, Newcastle Town.
Town are hoping for a large turn-out of Stokies for the traditional pre-season curtain raiser and may even get a record crowd of over 3,000 as Potters’ fans come for a first glimpse of the players warming up for their first season in the Premier League.
Stoke will be hoping that they can unveil their first new signing of the season tonight by confirming that they have captured Reading striker, Dave Kitson.
Kitson is reported to be undergoing a medical this afternoon at the Brit in a £5m deal and would be a welcome addition to the front row.
The match at the Lyme Valley Stadium kicks off at 6.45pm tonight.
