Ibrahima Sonko may be forgiven for sometimes forgetting which club he belongs to as he’s likely to spend another season away from the Brit on loan.

Sonko spent last season on loan at Hull and seems destined for another extended absence after Portsmouth agreed to take him on another season-long deal. But with Pompey still in a parlous financial state, they’ll have to wait for Football League approval before the loan deal can be signed off.

One player who does seem to have played his final game for the Potters is Carl Dickinson.

Widely rumoured to be on the move a couple of weeks ago, Dicko has now agreed to join Preston North End and this will probably be made official on Monday after he returns from Stoke’s training week in Austria with the fee said to be in the region of £750,000.
