Our sister site Swansea Vital Football are reporting Stoke are favourites to land 26 year old Andy Robinson, who scored 18 goals from midfield last season.
A fee of £400,000 has been mentioned, and with City on the verge of unveiling 3 new signings before Saturday, Robinson is likely to be one of them.
However, Swansea boss Kenny Jackett has said City’s interest remains only at the enquiry stage, and he said, ‘I’ve spoken to Tony Pulis and he has expressed his interest in the player.
‘He hasn’t put a bid in or talked figures, but asked me to keep him informed of the situation. I think he is trying to get a couple of players out. That seems to be what he needs to do first.’
The 2 players exiting Stoke are Karl Henry to Wolves for an initial £100,000, and Peter Kopteff to Dutch side FC Utrecht for £70,000.
Rumours circulating around the Britannia have seen former striker Ade Akinbiyi linked with a move back to Stoke, and a Paul Gallagher deal now seems more likely following Blackburn’s £2.5million capture of Benni McCarthy.
