Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is reportedly looking at former England U21 and Middlesbrough striker Leroy Lita.

Lita has been in fine form recently in the npower Championship, scoring 5 goals in his last 8 appearances. But despite his fantastic recent form Middlesbrough want to offload him and a couple of others.

As relegation threatens big earners such as Lita will be the ones who need to go in order to keep the finances in order. Boro have already sold David Wheater (Bolton) and Gary O’Neil (West Ham) last week, who were amongst the list of big wage players along with Leroy Lita.

Middlesbrough would be prepared to let the Congolese-born striker go for around the £2million mark.

Lita was a product of the Chelsea youth system, however he failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge. He went on to Bristol City scoring 31 goals in 85 appearances, and then Reading scoring 20 goals in 83 appearances. His form earned Leroy 9 caps for England U21, adding 6 goals to his tally. He has also played on loan with Charlton Athletic and Norwich City.

The deal for Lita could be pushed through to fill the gap left by a certain Turkey international, who has just departed from The Britannia Stadium.
