Clint Hill has joined Crystal Palace on a two month loan at the south London club.

The 29 year old defender had been ear marked to move in the reverse direction to new Potters’ signing, Leon Cort for a couple of weeks and Stoke will look to try and make his move permanent in January and therefore reduce the transfer fee for Cort – rumoured to be over £1m.

Hill went straight into the starting eleven for last night’s match against Cardiff City at Ninian Park and played the entire 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw.

Whilst injuries have blighted Hill’s time at the Brit, he has always pulled his weight, whether playing for the first team or the reserves and will be missed.

There’s also the small matter of Vital Stoke having to find another player to sponsor….
