Southampton have agreed an undisclosed fee with Stoke for defender John Halls. Halls is out of contract at the end of the season following his refusal to sign a new contract with the Potters, so this is Stoke’s last chance to get some financial return on their investment before he could walk for free come the summer.

John Halls has always made it clear in the past that he wants to play in the Premiership and has been strongly linked to West Ham for the last few months, so we wait to see if Halls can agree personal terms with the south coast outfit or whether this will bring other clubs out of the woodwork.

Its certain that fans will be glad to see the situation finally resolved. He has never seemed fully committed to the club this season and the sooner he goes the better for everyone.
