Talksport via Fanatik, have reported this week that newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has tabled a £22million offer for Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye.

The 27-year-old only arrived at the Potters back in the January window as he made a £14million switch from Turkish side Galatasaray and in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign that unfortunately ended with our relegation to the Championship, he made 13 Premier League appearances with a return of two goals.

With relegation confirmed, Badou was one of many who fans expected to be off for the top-flight dream and Stoke’s task is very simple – sell at the highest price and make a quick turnaround on profit.

Leicester City and Arsenal have been linked in the speculation, but it appears Wolves might be in pole position if there is any truth to the news.

For many Stoke supporters, the talk of £22million is certainly in the right ballpark for a quick deal to be done but some did wonder if we could up the price and give Wolves a 2 for 1 deal that also included Mame Biram Diouf given they are both on international duty at the World Cup for Senegal.

Others hoped that he stayed and played his part in getting us back to the Premier League next season.

  • Take the money we seem to have a good replacement who is better than championship standard. Another good striker to compliment Abode two wingers of wing backs who can play WB not like last season and a CB who is able feed the midfield. I’d keep Crouch as is experience is vital and will get goals in Championship.
    Here’s to a promotion season ????

  • Sorry for wrong spelling but think Stoke are run a lot better than Sunderland. Under Mark Hughes we got complacant and he should of gone before last season kicked off. I wanted Gary Rosette in January as am good young boss look what he did at Birmingham took them from and elevation outfit to brink of play offs then they sacked him. In the end they had get Harry in to get them out of trouble. We have a top up coming manager trust me

    • John, we have some standards on this site and it’s open to readers of all ages. If you wish to remake your point I invite you to do so.

Don’t worry about spelling, I couldn’t survive without a spell check – just remember it’s not Twitter you’re not in a rush 🙂 We want folks to stick around!

  • I think £22 million is more than he is worth . I’d take the money rather than phoning a friend . I’d be looking at off loading all of our current strikers as they simply cannot ‘strike’ and many seem to have been on strike for too long .I think we need two more quality strikers to stand any chance this season as players do get injured and lose form .

    • If true, it would be a great quick mark up that will more speedily offset the loss of Premier League money this year. Don’t have to look far across the Midlands to see how quickly that revenue loss can bite.

  • I agree but I am looking forward to exciting times. Goals win you matches and Abode will get 20 plus and with another strike partner like gray or another then we will be a force be feared. Problem last season was if we conceded we needed get two and we just didn’t have it in our locker. But having said that the rest of the team need contribute to make chances and that never happened. Two shots on target in home games is not acceptable so midfield need create chances else if we had Harry Kane he would be starved of service
