Celtic still after Lawrence

Celtic are said to be ready to make a move for Liam Lawrence.

The midfielder has finally broken into the international scene for Ireland over the past season, whilst regular club football has eluded him at Stoke and so it’s not really a surprise that he’s keen to move to somewhere that will offer him the promise of first team football.

With Neil Lennon the new man at the helm at Celtic Park after Tony Mowbray’s departure, he’s understandably keen to rejuvenate the squad after a disappointing season (at least by their standards) and Lawrence’s Irish roots will always sit well with the green and white half of Glasgow – the club was founded in 1887 by Irish immigrants who had settled in Scotland’s second city.
