Stoke City striker, Sammy Bangoura has told the club that unless he is allowed to leave now he will come back to the Potteries (where he should have been three weeks ago) and simply sit out the remaining year of his contract.

The amazing ultimatum from a player who only turns up after the season has started, goes on extended holidays during the season, mixed in with several interviews with the British Immigration authorities have all conspired to make Stoke’s record £1m signing from Standard Liege an extremely dodgy investment for any other football club.

The club have been struggling with how to get rid of Bangoura for the last twelve months and now seem to have accepted that they will make a big loss on the deal.

Bangoura has had interest from Portuguese club, Boavista and the Isreali club, Maccabi Tel Aviv, but neither are prepared to come anywhere close to what the previous Icelandic owners paid for him two years ago.

This is one player that we’ll be very pleased to finally see the back of.
