Stoke boss Tony Pulis has revealed that summer signings are most likely to arrive towards the back end of the window in late August.

Speaking after the Potters 1-0 friendly defeat by Derby he said “We will see what happens’. ‘I’m just glad no-one is linking us to the players we want. The Potters have so far trimmed their squad by seeing Amdy Faye, Andy Griffin, Steve Simonsen and Ibrahima Sonko leave and with only young Florent Cuvelier signed, fans are starting to get slightly worried.

“I think the best deals will be done at the back end of it and we may have to wait until the back end to get the players we want.
T
he latest news is that the Potters are being linked with an audacious move for Man City`s Roque Santa-Cruz. The Paraguayan centre-forward has suffered a torrid time of it at Eastland`s and is said to want out. Also, rumours of Carlton Cole`s supposed imminent arrival have gone quiet in recent days and West Brom are said to be negotiating a move for James Beattie.
