Brazilian international striker, Fred has said that there is a loan deal from the Potters on the table

His contract with the French Ligue 1 champions, Lyon, expires in the summer and the Brazilian has already said that he’d like to return to his home country. He’s found it difficult to get a game under the Lyon boss, Puel and interested clubs seem reluctant to pay any transfer fee, meaning that he’s going to spend another six months on the sidelines unless he can find a loan move.

He’s told the French national newspaper, Le Parisien: ‘I do not know whether I will leave Lyon in January or not yet. I’ve heard the club would like to see me leave, but it is my decision. And if a club signs me to join at the end of my contract, and to stop Lyon from making money on me, then that is my problem.

‘I can confirm I am considering a proposal from Stoke City. They are not Arsenal or Manchester United but they are still a good Premier League club.

‘And at least they have shown me more respect with their offer than Aulas (the Lyon president) has made me at Lyon.’
