Jon Walters has signed for the Potters after Tony Pulis won a two year chase for his signature.

Ipswich have agreed a £2.75m deal which could rise to over £3m based on future appearances and Walters has signed a four year contract at the Brit.

The former Tractor Boys’ skipper has been a well known target for the Potters ever since we gained promotion two years ago, but an acrimonious confrontation between the fiery Ipswich boss, Roy Keane and his skipper last weekend seems to have cliched the deal as Keane told him that he was no longer skipper and no longer welcome to play for the team after he told him that he wanted a move out of Portman Road.

With Jon able to play as a striker or in midfield he brings some welcome flexibility to Pulis’s team selections which have become just a tad predictable in recent times.
