Stoke City have signed Aston Villa midfielder, Lee Hendrie on a two month loan.

It seems to have taken Villa fans by surprise. 29 year old Hendrie had been linked to Crystal Palace and QPR and according to our colleagues at Vital Villa, he was widely expected to rejoin former Villa manager, John Gregory at Rangers.

Well, some good news at last and with luck, he will be in the side against Preston at the Britannia tomorrow.

In other news, it seems that Ade Akinbiyi will not be returning to the Potteries. Sheffield United manager, Neil Warnock has decided not to loan the player out: “We can put this to bed right now – Ade is going nowhere. He is just too important to the squad here, so no chance. No way. I shall not let him leave on loan, end of story.”

Seems like any chance of a shorter trip to work for the Blades’ reserve striker will have to be put on hold for the time being…
