Stoke may have knocked another nail in Burnley’s coffin as the Clarets failed to knock the Potters off their good run as they went on to notch up their seventh away draw of the season.

Even with the Turf Moor hoardings moved onto the edge of the playing area, it wasn’t enough to stop Rory ‘the Exocet’ Delap from firing in yet another throw which was picked up by Tuncay who headed home on 23 minutes.

Whilst the first half belonged to Stoke, it was Burnley that came out of the second-half traps the quickest and they pulled level with over just five minutes of the second period. Unfortunately, it was our very own local lad, Martin Paterson who was the inspiration behind their goal, his neat work and cross found Pompey loanee, David Nugent who headed home.

Despite the home side sensing blood (and a rare victory) the Potters held on despite some late scares from Pato and co to bring home a justifiable point.
