Stoke raise the stakes for Fulop

Stoke City have made a dramatic new bid for Sunderland keeper, Marton Fulop.

The Daily Mail are reporting that we have now made a third bid for the Hungarian international in the region of £6m after two previous bids around the £2m mark were turned down by the Black Cats.

Last week, the Potters were turned down by England keeper, Scott Carson after they had a £3m bid accepted by Liverpool. He then joined West Brom for a similar amount, so Tony Pulis has now moved back to focus on his original target and first choice for the vacant keeper position.

Whilst the thought of Carson arriving at the Brit had initially excited some fans, many are now saying that we may have had a narrow escape. The 23 year old failed to attract an offer from Villa, even though he spent last season there on loan and Liverpool obviously didn’t see him in any part of their plans. He’s also best remembered for the dreadful goal he let in during England’s 3-2 defeat to Croatia at Wembley back in November last year.
