The season reaches a nail-biting climax on Saturday with yet another big match for the final game at the Brit.

Colchester lie just one place below the Potters and both teams are just one point off a play off position. Certainly fans cannot complain about the boredom of mid-table security this time around.

Whatever the final result the club are determined that there will be a party atmosphere and our urging all fans to bring red and white scarfs and the supporters clubs’ will be presenting their player of the season awards before the game.

Vital Quotes:

Lee Hendrie is insisting that he won’t raise to any baiting from the U’s players after some memorable comments directed at Kem Izzet about washing a Ferrari at the not so memorable 3-0 defeat we suffered at the Wembley Stadium of Essex – Layer Road back in December. He told the Sentinel: ‘I will just try to get on with my game and not get tangled up in any silly stuff because the game is too important for that’

Stoke City Team News:

Salif Diao is likely to make a long awaited return to midfield, with Dominic Matteo likely to be rested. Lee Hendrie, Darel Russell and Mama Sidibe are all fully fit after their recent injuries, but there are doubts over the fitness of Andy Griffin and Carl Dickinson may have to deputise again in defence.

Player to watch: Ricardo Fuller

If there ever was a day for Ricardo Fuller to be on perfect form AND perfect behaviour – this is it.

Colchester United Team News:

The U’s should be bringing a good crowd with them as they compete with the Potters for a play-off spot.

Player to watch: Chris Iwelumo

Former Potters’ favourite, Chris Iwelumo will get a good reception from the home supporters, but let’s hope that he does not find the form that has given him 17 goals so far this season. Strike partner, Jamie Cureton has done even better with 23.
What would we have given for that sort of strike rate?

Match prediction

With both teams on form and a good crowd this should be a cracker…
