Reports are circulating today that Stoke City have been looking for a new manager and have approached Ian Holloway, who is currently on ‘gardening leave’ from his job as QPR manager.
Later reports say that he has said that it is all nonsense: ‘It’s complete rubbish and I don’t know where it’s come from,’ Holloway said. ‘I haven’t had an approach from Stoke. I haven’t had an interview with Stoke and I haven’t even spoken to anyone at Stoke. It’s rubbish.’

I would expect the board to be sounding out potential replacements for Boskamp as they will be concerned about him jumping ship at the end of his contract in the summer – if they don’t sack him before.

Under the circumstances, rumours like this will be going around for a few weeks yet.
