There was a glimmer of hope tonight with Radio Stoke reporting that Matty Etherington’s hamstring injury may not be as bad as first feared.

The BBC’s John Acres tweeted that a scan had revealed a tear in the hamstring but that “it didn’t sound like a bad one” although there has been no announcement from the club.

Stoke fans will be hoping that he will be fit for the vital cup final date on May 14th after the injury during our 3-0 thrashing of relegation threatened Wolves. A minority of the visiting fans jeered Matty as he was carried off which Jon Walters said just spured the Potters on to victory and forced the Wolves management into apologising for their fans’ behaviour after the match.
