Stoke cleared of QPR match blame

Stoke have been cleared by the FA of any blame following the trouble at the home game against QPR last season.

QPR have already been found guilty by the FA of not controlling their players in the brawl that followed a rowdy match against QPR at the Britannia last December in which a Stoke fan was arrested for attacking the QPR keeper.

Stoke were then charged by the FA for failing to prevent supporters invading the pitch but have now been found ‘not guilty’.

Stoke’s Chief Executive, Tony Scholes is pleased that it is now all over: ‘We are delighted that the FA has fully exonerated the club and the stewarding operation which was in place on the day.
‘We are rightly proud of the hard work John Alcock and his team play in maintaining a safe environment on match days.
‘My personal view is that we never had a case to answer’
