James Beattie is likely to be fully fit for the home match against Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.

Beatts needed twelve stitches in a head wound after clashing with Sebastien Bassong’s flailing arm shortly before half time in Saturday’s draw with Newcastle United. Despite some emergency patching up on the pitch and at the interval, it was obviously causing him difficulty and he was substituted midway through the second period with Richard Cresswell deputising up front.

Whilst some fans were upset to see Beattie’s early departure, Tony Pulis was right in erring on the side of caution as the striker is crucial to a successful run-in for the Potters.
