Brek Shea is set to join MLS side Orlando City.

Shea, 24, disappointing spell in English football looks to have come to end as it seems that the USA international is set to link up with the Potters sister club.

The former Dallas winger joined Stoke in the January of 2013 for £2.5 million but has only made five first time appearances for the Potters and has embarked on several loan deals at Birmingham and Barnsley.

The dynamic midfielder spent a couple of months with Orlando City in the summer to help regain his fitness and impressed former Stoke player and current Orlando City manager Adrian Heath.

He told the Birmingham Mail: “I can`t hide the fact that I`ve enjoyed working with him and seeing him close up.

“You can look at players from afar but you really only get to know what they`re like when you see them this close up.

“The one thing that`s very apparent is the size and the power and the pace? It gives us an idea of what some of the players are like at the next level.”

The Texan has won 27 caps for the United States and won the CONCAF Gold Cup in 2013.
