Following hot on the heals of Clint Hill, City’s Darel Russell signed a contract extension at Stoke.

The midfielders contract ended in the summer but has now secured two more years at the Britannia Stadium. He has been a first team regular since moving from Norwich for £75 000 in 2003 and has played more than a 100 games for the Potters.

Director of Football John Rudge said ‘It’s been a long drawn out issue, but at the end of it Darel has decided he wants to stay and we are delighted with that. It follows Clint Hill’s decision to sign a new contract and is another feather in our cap.’
