Ref Watch: Pawson to officiate Stoke v Arsenal

Craig Pawson has been named as the man in the middle when Stoke welcome Arsene Wenger`s Arsenal to the Britannia Stadium this afternoon.

The Sheffield and Hallamshire county F.A. referee was promoted to the Premier League select group of referee`s in 2013 and became FIFA listed in 2015.
Pawson`s biggest fixture to date is 2012 League Two play-off final between Cheltenham and Crewe.

The 36-year-old has been in charge of 16 fixtures so far this season, handing out 51 yellow cards and one red card at an average of 3.25 cards per game.

The official has yet to be in charge of Stoke so far this season. He was last in charge of the Potters in May 2015 when Stoke lost 2-0 to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. He handed out four yellow cards and one red card; with two yellows and one red card being handed out to Stoke players.

The South Yorkshire born Pawson has been in charge of Arsenal once this season. He was in charge of the Gunners 5-2 victory against Leicester at the King Power Stadium. He handed out two yellow cards; one being handed to an Arsenal player.
