Ref Watch: Pawson to officiate Stoke City v Sunderland

Craig Pawson has been named as the man in the middle when Stoke visit Sam Allardyce`s Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

The Sheffield and Hallamshire county F.A. referee was promoted to the Premier League select group of referee`s in 2013 and became FIFA listed in 2015.

Pawson`s biggest fixture to date is 2012 League Two play-off final between Cheltenham and Crewe.

He is currently Stoke`s joint fourth best referee, as they average 2 points per games whilst he`s in charge.

The 36-year-old has been in charge of 25 fixtures so far this season, handing out 80 yellow cards and two red cards at an average of 3.28 cards per game.

The Sheffield and Hallamshire FA official has been in charge of Stoke two times this season; their 0-0 draw against Arsenal and 2-1 away victory against Watford. He handed out four yellow cards over the fixture, one to a Stoke player.

The South Yorkshire born Pawson has been in charge of Sunderland twice this season; their 1-0 home defeat against Tottenham and their 3-1 home victory against Aston Villa. He handed out ten yellows over the fixture; five being handed out to Sunderland players.
