Pulis is the right man for the Sunderland job

After the inevitable sacking of Paulo Di Canio, who if we are been honest is much better suited to the realms of a comedy club than football management, could this represent the first serious chance for TP to return to a managerial hot seat?

Whilst Paulo was incredibly entertaining can anyone seriously say they would want him to be the manager at our club? No thought not!

Let`s think about it logically, TP has a lot of positives on his C.V. He has a ‘triffic` record when it comes to getting results and knows exactly what it takes to keep a team in the Premiership, and you can forget about those antics such as touchline slides and after match interviews consisting of slating your team.

Whilst it will be quite evident that his style of play is not going to set the world on fire up on Wearside, do they really have a choice right now? They have a team playing like strangers who never seem to have met before. One thing you can be sure of is the passion and effort he will command from his players will certainly make the Stadium of Light a more difficult place to visit for teams like Stoke City.

Looking at Sunderland`s squad they have a lot of Premiership experience and if he gets the harmony right in that squad, it wouldn`t take much to turn it around. Players like O`Shea, Cattermole, Johnson and Fletcher are big characters and if these guys are on his side and turns The Stadium of Light into fortress again, it would be tough to back them for relegation.

I for one hope that we see TP back in football management soon, and considering that there wasn`t a real opportunity to say goodbye after the Southampton game. I look forward to welcoming the man who has provided this club with some of the best days of the past 20 years back to the Brit with open arms and show him the respect that his achievements here deserve.
