Stoke City have confirmed that they have signed Dominic Matteo and Andy Griffin.

Griffin has rejoined the Potters on loan until the end of the season ‘with a view to a permanent move’, whilst Matteo has joined on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers.

Fans will be delighted that we’ve finally managed to get Griff back – even if it is just on loan. The Stoke back line has been leaking goals recently in comparision to the rock-solid defence that we had come to expect before Griffin’s first loan period came to an end at the start of December.

Matteo also joins the Potters, but has yet to prove his match fitness after not starting a first team game for Rovers this season.

He told the official site that he was raring to go and looking forward to the chance to get some games under his belt: ‘I’m not saying I’m going to come here and go straight into the team but hopefully I will show every body what I can do.
‘The club are in a good position, they have been doing well recently and hopefully I can be part of a good time.’

Both will be included in the squad to face Preston at Deepdale tomorrow.
