Tony Pulis is refusing to rule out a move for Juventus enforcer Mohamed Sissoko, insisting ‘four or five’ new signings are on the agenda as he continues to prepare his side for the upcoming season.

Pulis remained coy over the reported move for Sissoko but insisted the Potters will be doing plenty of business before the end of the window.

He told the Sentinel: “I won’t comment on individual players but I will say I’ll be disappointed if we don’t bring four or five players in.

“We need to shake it up for the good of the team, and there’s fringe players here who need to go out and play football.

“I’m looking for new players all over the pitch. I’m just looking for better players.”

A much changed Stoke team lost 1-0 today in a pre-season friendly away at Aldershot, having tasted defeat at Brentford on Friday.

Star man Jermaine Pennant and crowd-favourite Jonny Walters both picked up knocks at Brentford but it’s hoped they will be able to shake them off in time for next thursday’s hugely-anticipated Europa league encounter against Hajduk Split.

“Jermaine felt his thigh early on,’ Pulis added.

“He’s been a bit silly really, because he felt it before the game and shouldn’t have started.”

The ‘worse’ the pre-season is in terms of results, the better we seem to fair in the resulting campaign, so lets hope the trend continues! Most of the squad will be happy they came through all of the games unscathed, fingers crossed on Pennant and Walters!
