Stoke City take on promotion hopefuls, Crystal Palace currently sitting in 5th place. Palace have had some indifferent form of late culminating in a 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds last weekend after they had won all six games either side of the new year.

Vital Quotes:

Potters’ defender Clint Hill was managed by Palace Manager, Iain Dowie, when he played at Oldham and he told The Sentinel that he found him an inspiration: ‘Some of the technical, tactical and motivational skills were something I hadn’t seen before. He’s done well and will go on to be one of the best managers in England’

Stoke City Team News:

Johan Boskamp may rest influential winger Luke Chadwick after he had to be substituted with exhaustion during the Wolves game in midweek.
Martin Paterson, performing well in the reserves, is certain to be given a chance to feature in the squad, but we will have to wait to see if he figures on anything other than the subs’ bench.
Mamady Sidibe and Hannes Sigurdsson are also likely to be included, as is Peter Kopteff who reportedly played a blinder in the reserve game against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Player to watch: Sam Bangoura

Hopefully he will be getting back into scoring ways very soon. He’s proved that he can get into those potential goal scoring positions better than any other player.

Crystal Palace Team News:

Crystal Palace expect Ben Watson,Dougie Freedman and Marco Riech to be back fit.
Danny Granville is still sidelined with a long-term knee injury. Danny Butterfield and John Macken are also still unavailable.

Player to watch: Andy Johnson

Has been regarded as just on the edge of the England team and always a danger with 11 goals to his credit.

Match Facts & Stats

Not a good record for the Potters. Out of the last 11 meetings, we have not won any and drawn only 3.
