Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has moved to Npower Championship side Wolverhampton Wanders on a 3month emergency loan deal.
The Winger will move to Molineux to fill the gap on the wings after a spate of injuries for the high flying Midlands side, who currently sit in 3rd place in the Championship.
Summer acquisitions Razak Boukari and Slawomir Peszko, along with Stephen Hunt have been side lined through injury.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told BBC sport: ‘We’re very pleased Stoke have agreed for Jermaine Pennant to join us on loan for an initial three-month period.
‘Our manager Stale Solbakken wanted to find a high-quality replacement for our injured wingers.
‘He is a high-quality player and Stale is delighted to have secured his services until at least the New Year.’
The Dad-of-one broke the initial news on twitter on Friday (12th October) morning that manager Tony Pulis planned to allow the midfielder to go out on loan to gain first team football.
Pennant tweeted: ‘The gaffa said I can go out on Loan to get some games! I was as shocked as much as some of you’s will and I can promise we have not fell out.”
The 29-year-old is no stranger to a loan move having previously being on loan at Watford, Birmingham, Leeds, Portsmouth and of course Stoke throughout his career.
The former England under-21 international has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season having stiff competition from Jon Walters, Michael Kightly and Matthew Etherington, who have reduced the Nottingham born winger to only two first appearances.
He later tweeted: “”I’m not gonna lie I’m gutted like but I gotta play!!”
