On loan defender Kurt Zouma has promised fans that the Stoke City players will be giving their all when we face Everton this weekend after the Manchester City defeat.

Having lost two nil on Monday evening to the Champions elect, it’s all eyes to this weekend’s clash with Everton as Stoke certainly don’t want to go into the international break on the back of another loss and potentially with a bigger gap to overcome to the safety places.

Speaking to the Official Website as he met with the media this week to look ahead, Zouma explained.

‘We are still only one point away from moving out of the relegation zone and we know we have some very big games still to come. We haven`t won too many games of late but we are playing a lot better than before, are tighter at the back and conceding a lot less goals.’

With manager Paul Lambert regularly talking about the positives even though victory eludes the side, Zouma went on to say that the players had taken confidence from recent performances and he felt it was only a matter of time before that win came, and clearly it would be ideal against Everton this weekend.

‘That should give us confidence and we need to use it as a platform to secure the wins we require starting with Everton at home this weekend. Any defeat is disappointing and yesterday is no different. We tried to press at the start of the game but their first goal really killed us – it`s not easy playing against Manchester City.’

He added.

‘Our aim was to remain compact, defend well and press but once they scored they had more confidence and kept the ball well. We had two good chances, but we didn`t manage to take them on the night and that`s football. We have another game on Saturday and will give everything to win. It`s as simple as that.’
