Seyi Olofinjana’s departure from the Brit now looks increasingly likely after the Potters signed Dean Whitehead on Friday.

Despite joining from Wolves twelve months ago he has only racked up 14 starts last season and probably recognised that he was only going to drop further down the pecking order with Whitehead’s arrival. He has been linked to French club, Monaco for the past couple of weeks, but Tony Pulis had been reluctant to let him go until Dean’s signature was secured.

If the deal goes through, it looks like we’ll recoup most of the £3m we paid Wolves last year with a fee of £2.5m being offered by the Ligue 1 side.
