Tony Pulis has said that we will get players in – we’ll just have to be patient.

Nothing new in that then… TP is notorious for his deadline day deals and with our comparatively modest spending budgets we’ll always be picking up the crumbs from the tables of others higher up the food chain.

With the new rules limiting the number of players over 21 years of age that a club can have on it’s books, it’ll also mean that it could be a buyers’ market this summer with clubs well aware that others will have to unload their older players at, possibly, bargain prices.

It’s already well known that several Stoke players look to be on their way: Beattie, Kitson, Tuncay, Lawrence, Tonge, Simonsen and Griffin are already earmarked for sale if the right buyer comes along.

With the World Cup now in it’s final stages and other players getting ready to come back for pre-season training, the summer transfer market is only just getting going.
