Muniesa wins Manchester United Man of the Match poll

Marc Muniesa has won the Vital Stoke man of the match award for his performance in the Potters 3-0 defeat against Manchester United at old Trafford.

The former Barcelona centre half was drafted back into Premier League action and had a tough time in the game as a rampant Manchester United punished a lacklustre Stoke.

The Spanish centre half did his best to try and keep Wayne Rooney quiet, putting his body on the line several times and was calm on the ball, bringing the ball out from the back numerous times.

The 23-year old receives 5 maximum Player of the season points after winning the poll with 34% of the vote, beating Ibrahim Afellay (21%) who receives 3pts and Jack Butland and Bojan (10%) receive 1pt each.
